Terms of service
Last updated November 4, 2026
These are the rules for using Give Better. They are short because the service is simple: you keep lists for the people you give to, and we keep them private and running.
Using the service
By creating an account or opening a link someone sent you, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. You must be at least 13 to have an account. If you add other people, you are responsible for having a reasonable basis to hold their information, such as being their family member or friend.
Your account
You sign in with a link we email you, or with a password if you set one. Keep your email account secure; anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. Tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You can sign out all other devices from Settings.
Your content
Everything you add is yours. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people you share it with, and send the emails the service is for, and nothing more. You can delete any of it, or your whole account, at any time.
Don’t use Give Better to store anything unlawful, to harass anyone, to collect information about people who would object, or to run anything automated against the service. We may remove content or close accounts that break these rules.
Share links
A share link or Secret Santa link works for anyone who has it, with no sign-in. Send links only to the people they are meant for, and revoke a link if it gets out. We are not responsible for what someone sees because a link was forwarded.
Prices, stores and affiliate links
Give Better links to products sold by other companies. We are not the seller: your purchase is with the store, under its terms. Prices and availability we show may be out of date, and prices entered by hand are marked approximate. As an Amazon Associate, Give Better earns from qualifying purchases, and links to other stores may also pay us a commission. This never changes the price you pay.
The service itself
We work to keep Give Better available and your data safe, but we provide it as is, without warranties of any kind. We may change or discontinue features. If we ever shut the service down, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice and a way to export your data.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Give Better is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 and the amount you paid us in the past twelve months, which today is nothing.
Ending things
You can delete your account from Settings whenever you like. We can close accounts that break these terms. Sections about your content, liability and disputes survive either.
Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Give Better is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If something goes wrong, email us first; most problems are fixable in a reply.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email the address on your account before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
